Annual Scholarships

The annual scholarship ''Prof. Dr. Cristian Condeiu'' was established in 2020 by Dr. Condeiu, one of the founders of the foundation, with the desire to positively influence the future of a student of modest financial means who shows excellent academic results, a student facing a situation similar to that of the scholarship's creator, as well as to that of one of the heroes of the region, geologist Vasile Bacalu, the youngest of the 12 siblings in his family.

The future of Romania depends decisively on how we shape future generations, how we facilitate the fulfillment of their dreams, and how we instill in them the desire to contribute to the progress of the country they were born in. Many years ago, geologist Vasile Bacalu opened new horizons in the Mahmudia area by discovering limestone deposits that revitalized the area and allowed the country to save foreign currency and gain independence from natural resources necessary for the steel industry. He did so by applying a principle stated by US President John F. Kennedy in his inaugural address, a principle that became a guiding one for Dr. Condeiu as well: ''Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country''.

By establishing the scholarship bearing his name, Dr. Condeiu continues, with modesty, hope, and confidence in the future, the tradition and personal example of geologist Vasile Bacalu,.
