Quarry Visit

On October 23, 2023, the ''SOS Education - Foundation for a Better Future'' Foundation, through its Vice President, Engineer Șerban Ghiță, organized a visit to the quarry (mine) in Mahmudia, which in the past operated with about 3000 workers, but currently has ten times fewer workers, with significantly reduced operations. The action was necessary because, paradoxically, none of the children had visited the quarry until that date, although it has been and probably remains one of the important economic agents in the commune.

The action was part of our foundation's program to educate students about the area where they live and to understand the importance of economic factors on the lives of all inhabitants. The decision-makers at the quarry were very cooperative and helpful in this activity, and we want to thank them for facilitating in the ''School - a Big Family'' program, as an integral part of the ''School Integrated into Society'' concept.
